At the KERM meeting, a discussion is underway on the distribution of funds allocated to housing support, and the decision will be made within the next two weeks, said Andrzej Domański, Minister of Finance. As the head of the ministry noted, it is necessary to start the housing construction program as soon as possible.
Due to the very high interest rates in Poland, many potential borrowers are absolutely excluded from taking out a mortgage loan. On the other hand, we should not forget that the supply of apartments should be increased
— Domański said on TVP Info.
As the Minister indicated, during the meeting of the Economic Committee of the Council of Ministers (KERM), there is a discussion underway on the distribution of the resources allocated to support the housing sector in 2025.
Decisions must be made within two weeks
– announced the Minister of Finance. He added that next week there will be a meeting of the Energy Regulatory Committee, which will be attended by the head of the Ministry of Development, which prepared the loan project for Start Paszyk, and the Minister of Funds, Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz. , who “has a completely different position.”
The entire coalition is looking for a solution to start the housing construction program as soon as possible
– Domański insured.
Earlier, the Minister of Finance announced that a total of over PLN 4 billion had been allocated in the budget to support housing.
Domański also referred to the ongoing discussion in the coalition about reducing health insurance premiums.
I am confident that an agreement will be reached. The minimum plan assumes that the absurdity of charging a premium on the sale of fixed assets will be ended. I think that this project will start within a week or two
– said Domański.
He added that there is still discussion about the “further reaching step”.
I clearly stated in the Sejm that the funds intended to reduce health insurance premiums for entrepreneurs will be provided in the budget. We have allocated PLN 4 billion for this, because we can afford it now, taking into account the budget deficit and the national debt. We are ready to adopt solutions that fall within this amount
– stressed the head of the Ministry of Finance.
Domański added that there is a new Poland 2050 proposal, which is “more economical and fiscally responsible”.
“Investments are already underway thanks to KPO”
The minister announced that thanks to investments, more engines of economic growth will be activated in the Polish economy.
Investments are already starting thanks to the KPO, but we want more of them. That is why we will invest in a number of projects next year, including very large ones, such as a nuclear power plant, for which we have secured PLN 4.6 billion. .
– he pointed out.
When asked about the future of the energy price freeze, the Finance Minister said that PLN 2 billion had been allocated for this purpose, but that a higher amount was still being worked on.
However, an energy transformation is needed. The point is not to freeze energy prices every year, but to make sure they come down, because we have one of the highest energy prices in Europe, and this affects Polish industry.
– he emphasized.
According to Domański, the budget deficit can be systematically reduced in the coming years, mainly thanks to rapid economic growth.
3.9 percent next year there is high dynamism, but the Polish economy can afford more
– he said, adding that the Treasury’s forecasts for economic growth and inflation “are within the consensus of market advice.”
Domański also said that the significantly higher amounts provided for in the proposed budget for some institutions, such as the Office of the President, the Institute of National Remembrance, the National Broadcasting Council and the Constitutional Tribunal, are due to the fact that they have so-called budgetary autonomy.
They draw up their own budgets, send them to the Minister of Finance, and he has to include them in the budget bill. These budgets can only be ‘cut’ in the parliamentary phase. I am sure they will be cut
– he judged.
