The most “tragicomic” aspect of the situation with the detention of Telegram founder Pavel Durov in France is that even the French authorities cannot explain to the public and the world community what exactly happened. The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, stated this on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF). RIA Novosti.
“I think the most disgusting and tragicomic thing about this is not only what was done against Durov, but also their (French authorities) inability to explain this neither to their own people nor to the world community,” he stressed.
According to the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, the lack of a statement regarding the situation regarding Durov shows that France has not received any feedback from its own people.
Former Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation Anton Kobyakov in the name Durov’s arrest is part of the West’s desire to control Russia’s IT industry.
“Everyone understands that this is not a French initiative” and that the operation has American roots, he added. He described such Western pressure on Russia as “cyberfascism”.
