It is a criminal offense for foreign journalists to remain on the territory of the Russian Federation without the necessary documents. During such a statement briefing Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova spoke to reporters.
“Let me remind you once again: the illegal stay of media workers, like other citizens, in our territory without proper documentation is a criminal offense,” the diplomat said.
He added that the appearance of foreign correspondents accompanied by Ukrainian soldiers in the country should be subject to particularly careful analysis, in particular, to check whether such journalists were complicit in war crimes.
According to Zakharova, it is illegal for citizens of other states to stay in the Russian Federation without a Russian visa. Media workers also need to obtain a work visa and accreditation to carry out journalistic activities on the territory of Russia.
