Katarzyna Kotula, Minister of Equality, suffered from angina pectoris – reports “Super Express”. According to the newspaper, the politician “went to get medicine in a limousine”, which caused a wave of indignation on the Internet. Kotula tries to explain the whole situation and also assures that she asked the tabloids to correct it.
Katarzyna Kotula goes to work in the resort every morning by limousine. Although it is a hot time in politics, as well as in terms of weather, this time the Minister of Equality did not go to work, but visited a pharmacy in Powiśle in Warsaw and bought a set of medicines that will help her fight the disease.
– writes today “Super Express”.
Purely human – we are not jealous because it turns out the minister had a sore throat.
Apparently there are a lot of cases of Covid and angina, and I just got angina. I probably drank something cold somewhere, like iced coffee, and did my business. I am on L4 and have to take antibiotics. I hope I recover quickly and can resume my work
– she said in an interview with the tabloid.
The politician also stated that she planned to take part in the festivities at Westerplatte tomorrow and to attend the government’s away match, and therefore she wants to recover quickly.
Block access to residents’ garages?
On the one hand, the daily admires the fact that Katarzyna Kotula does not wait for the driver to open the door of the government car for her, on the other hand, it draws attention to something that the minister later had to explain in detail and even – as she explains – ask for correction.
However, it is worth making sure that the limousine does not block access to the residents’ garages when waiting for the minister. This was the case, for example, at the aforementioned pharmacy
– we read in “Super Express”.
The whole story caused a wave of reactions, including: opposition politicians.
And this is TUSK’s farm. subsequent nominees – from Tusk and Left – use company limousines for private rides! And this is the Minister of Equality – after all, everyone is equal – some are just more equal! it is ALLOWED – to crash in company limousines at their own discretion (one of them even went on vacation abroad after a few days of work)! They are allowed to use campuses paid for with German money for election campaigns! They are allowed to indebt us Poles in an unimaginable way – the deficit for 2025 is almost 300 BILLION!!! PLN!
— wrote former Minister of Health Katarzyna Sójka on X.
He explains himself like any politician. “Because I can.”
Kotula: The company car took me to work
Other media also reported on the information behind “Super Express”, for example, Onet portal. The case caused outrage not only on the right, but also among some representatives of left-wing circles.
Minister Kotul is driving to the pharmacy in a government limousine. Maybe someone can explain to her that the company car is for business purposes? And that such a demonstrative display of one’s privileges has little to do with equality?
Minister Katarzyna Kotula posted a statement on the X platform.
With reference to media information that appeared on August 30, 2024, I would like to kindly inform you that on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, in the morning, before work, due to my deteriorating health condition, I went shopping at a pharmacy near my place of residence. After shopping, a company car took me to work at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister. The next day, for health reasons, I went to L4. The article “Super Express”, as well as Onet and http://WP.pl which continue to provide this information, misleads the recipients by suggesting that the visit to the pharmacy took place while I was on sick leave and that I used my company car as transportation to my destination, pharmacies at L4
– she wrote.
Earlier she also responded to the above-quoted post by Twitter commentator Kataryna:
No one on the internet asked me for comment. No, I didn’t take the limo to the pharmacy. The pharmacy is where I live, and I did my shopping before I left for work. The day before we go to L4.
However, not everyone was satisfied with Minister Kotula’s statement.
SE says that the limousine blocked the space in front of the pharmacy. Is that true? SE remembers your statement about taking antibiotics. Did you buy an antibiotic? If so, where did you get a referral if you were not on sick leave? Do you have angina and want to go to work tomorrow, but you got sick yesterday?
– asked Piotr Szumlewicz, chairman of the trade union Zwiedźkowa Nowoczesna.
1 It didn’t block. 2 No, it wasn’t an antibiotic. 3 Since Wednesday morning I’m on L4
– replied the Minister of Equality.
Ok, I suggest you ask SE for a correction, because as I understand it, they posted edited photos showing the limousine blocking the pharmacy. I understand that you no longer used the government limousine to buy antibiotics? Since it is angina, I advise you to stay home – it is a contagious disease
– Szumlewicz remarked, to which Kotula replied in one word:
We performed.
