Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko held a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev and Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly Valentina Matvienko. This was reported by BelTA.

According to the agency, the telephone conversations discussed the development of relations between Russia and Belarus, as well as the upcoming summit in early October.

The presidents of Tajikistan, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, Emomali Rahmon, Ilham Aliyev and Shavkat Mirziyoyev, also called Lukashenko, BelTA reported. The politicians congratulated the Belarusian leader on his birthday, as he turned 70.
