How absurd! The prosecutor’s office subordinate to Adam Bodnar is doing everything it can to arrest Fr. Michał Olszewski and two officials of the Ministry of Justice, because the “Profeto” foundation allegedly does not meet the formal conditions for obtaining support for the construction of a center to help victims. At the same time, the same Minister of Justice is now presenting… the same interpretation of these conditions. “Min. Bodnar announces 10 competitions for grants from the Fund on almost identical terms! – reports lawyer Adam Gomoła. “It would be very funny if two women and a priest were not deprived of their freedom,” said lawyer Bartosz Lewandowski. “Bodnar’s split personality” – said MP Sebastian Kaleta.
Let us remind you that the Warsaw court has made a shocking decision regarding priest Michał Olszewski and two officials of the Ministry of Justice. They will all remain in pre-trial detention. Moreover, as one of the clergy’s defenders noted in Telewizja wPoland, “it is no secret that the prosecutor himself said in the case today that no new evidence has emerged in this case.”

Bodnar competitions and extreme absurdity
However, it turns out that this is not the end. Well, lawyer Adam Gomoła, lawyer of Karolina K. – one of the officials of the Ministry of Justice who was detained, among others, with priest Michał Olszewski about the Justice Fund – he drew attention to the absurdity shown by the Minister of Justice, Prosecutor General Adam Bodnar! It’s hard to believe…
MS officials and priests Olszewski has been in custody for five months because, according to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the PROFETO statute did not explicitly provide for the possibility of helping victims. Meanwhile, on May 29, 2024, Min. Bodnar announces 10 competitions for subsidies from the Fund under almost identical conditions!

When asked by a potential bidder: “Should the law clearly state that the entity may operate a child care center?” The Ministry’s answer is: “There is no need for an explicit provision, but the law cannot exclude the possibility of operating a center.”

Ergo: if the PROFETO Foundation were to participate in the competition announced TODAY by Min. Bodnar, its offer could only be formally rejected if the foundation’s statute contained the following provision: “Please note: we do not help victims”

Ms. Gomoła stresses that “yes, this is absurd,” but also recalls that “THEY are still in custody.”

Commenting on these reports, former deputy head of the Justice Ministry Sebastian Kaleta called it “Bodnar’s split personality.”
The whole scandal surrounding the Justice Fund basically boils down to one of the statutory objectives of the Profeto foundation being formulated correctly. Prosecutors are holding Father Olszewski and two clerks in custody for five months because they felt that the statute should clearly state that the foundation builds and manages centres to help victims. Meanwhile, in the current competition, MS Bodnara is outright stating that the statutory objectives do not need to be defined in such detail
