A quarter of Russians surveyed believe that incumbent President Joe Biden and his administration were behind the assassination attempt on US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, according to a survey conducted among readers of the News Mail project, available on socialbites.ca.
According to the results of the survey, it was noted that opinions regarding the versions of the assassination attempt against Republicans were almost equally divided.
Accordingly, 26 percent of respondents believe that American intelligence services are behind the crime. 24 percent of respondents named the Joe Biden administration as their client, while 21 percent chose the so-called deep state. 24 percent of Russian respondents believe that the assassination attempt on Trump was a hoax, while 21 percent suggested that the attacker, Thomas Crooks, acted alone.
A majority of Russians polled following the assassination believed Trump’s chances of returning to the White House would definitely increase (31%) or probably increase (31%). About 10% of respondents held the opposite view. A quarter of respondents had difficulty answering the question.
On July 14, former US President Donald Trump’s rally in Pennsylvania ended with gunfire. 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks opened fire on the politician with an AR-15 rifle, one of the bullets grazing his ear.
The incident was the first assassination attempt on an American leader in 43 years and the last attack on President Ronald Reagan. A preliminary investigation revealed that Trump survived by turning his head toward Crooks, otherwise the bullet would have hit him directly in the head. Trump later highlighted the mistakes made by law enforcement on the day of the assassination attempt.
Russians before chose “His” candidate for president of the United States.
