“I thought: well, who in Russia is somehow slowing down? This is not Putin’s policy. We have so many common views, we are so close to each other. We have no disagreements at all. This is the failure of our governments. We agreed that the economy should be managed by governments. But if there are any complications, we will intervene,” the president said.
According to him, they are “smart” enough to establish relations between the two states “as a single whole.”

Speaking about Minsk’s support for Moscow, Lukashenko stressed that he did not hide it, “because in fact we are in the same boat.”
“If it capsizes, we will both drown there; both Russia and Belarus. What have we to hide? – he concluded.
