The government organizes military picnics, just like during the rule of law, although it was previously heavily criticized for this. According to PiS MP Antoni Macierewicz, although much more money has been spent on them, no positive effects are expected. “This is just propaganda, not a pro-social or pro-military activity. After all, they are attacking the WOT and the project to increase the army’s personnel,” the former Minister of National Defense said in an interview with wPolityce.pl.
Former head of the Ministry of National Defence Mariusz Błaszczak pointed out on social media that the ruling coalition organised military picnics, although they had previously sharply criticised the United Right government for such initiatives.
As Antoni Macierewicz, former Minister of Defense, says in an interview with wPoilityce.pl, the Tusk government’s picnics will not have a positive impact on the military, because their purpose is completely different.
We wanted to make the public aware that they are defended and have security guarantees. Picnics gave people a sense of the strong bond between the army and society. Thanks to them, we also systematically increased the number of troops
– Macierewicz tells us.

They are now brutally attacking WOT
On the occasion of the Polish Army Day, a picnic, or rather a festival of military bands, is organized in Sieradz. One of the deputy ministers of the Civic Platform came from the Sieradz constituency.
I don’t believe they can guarantee such a good military presence at these picnics. After all, they represent a formation that attacks the territorial forces in a brutal and scandalous way. These attacks come directly from the circles of the Civic Platform. This eliminates the positive social activity we have been doing
– reminds the Member of Parliament for Law and Justice.
They will probably spend more money on it and the social and military involvement will be much smaller. All their propaganda about PiS is false. Now they are repeating some of our actions, only they are not effective. Instead of producing specific effects, they are purely propaganda in nature. They do not want to increase the number of troops, on the contrary, they reduce them. They do not fulfill the functions that were important to us, namely increasing the present strength of the army of about 200,000 soldiers. This is the fundamental difference. They do it for pure government propaganda, not to increase the potential and size of the army
– emphasizes the former head of the Military Counterintelligence Service, noting that they spare no money for this propaganda.
Financially they are spending much more money than during the PiS government. I will emphasize again, this is just propaganda, not a pro-social or pro-military activity
– concludes Antoni Macierewicz, explaining why he is so critical of Tusk’s coalition initiatives regarding the army.
They attack the territorial forces, dismiss key officers and torpedo the project of expanding the army personnel and connecting it with social circles. So that the Poles can be absolutely sure that they will be defended and not threatened by an attack from Russia
