The Platform will wait a few months to officially announce its candidate for the presidential election. The only politician with an official recommendation from the PO leader is Rafał Trzaskowski. But the coalition partners claim that Donald Tusk intends to run, Gazeta Wyborcza reported on Wednesday.
The newspaper recalls that the current president will end his term in August 2025.
PiS has already started the search for the ideal candidate who could repeat the success of Andrzej Duda. The accessories raised questions about the candidates of the coalition parties. The topic of Rafał Trzaskowski returned, who in 2020 – despite a short campaign – was one step away from defeating Andrzej Duda. And since then he has been the candidate of the Platform for the presidency of the Republic of Poland

The article pointed out that “Trzaskowski does not get involved in national politics on a daily basis, that he easily won another term as president of Warsaw, that he is highly rated in the trust rankings, and that his party members say only good things about him.”
Asked whether PO will deploy Trzaskowski, Tusk replied: “I would be very pleased” and “he has my full support.”

The words of Tusk
Tusk also likes to reiterate that if the competition were on an equal footing in 2020, Rafał Trzaskowski would be in office at the presidential palace
– added.
“GW” points out that “in PO we hear that nothing has changed in the Rafał Trzaskowski case.”
Another scenario is being built in the smaller parties of the coalition. They convince us not to believe PO politicians. Because Donald Tusk is actually getting ready to participate in the presidential elections. It is a secret, so no one from PO will officially confirm it, but the coalition partners know how it is
