Deputy Minister of National Defense Cezary Tomczyk said that the decision of the head of the Ministry of National Defense, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, to dismiss the generals of the Polish army from their positions was right. He stressed that the army must be apolitical, and to achieve this, personnel changes are necessary.
Onet reported on Monday that four Polish army generals had been dismissed from their posts. These include General Robert Głąb, whose term as deputy chief of staff for NATO resource management at the Allied Transformation Command in Norfolk, USA, was not extended, as well as General Ryszard Parafianowicz, who was dismissed from his post at the Operational Command. General Roman Kopka, who was no longer commander of the 7th Coastal Defence Brigade, and General Grzegorz Skorupski, who lost his position at the General Command of the Armed Forces.
Purification in the army
The Ministry of Defense confirmed to PAP that the generals had been transferred and assigned to perform duties in organizational units of the armed forces.
When asked about this issue by Polsat News, the deputy head of the Ministry of National Defense, Cezary Tomczyk, pointed out that in the past, General Głąb “ordered soldiers to watch only TVP Info in the garrison.” He said that the case was a scandal because of the issue of freedom of choice. The deputy minister also cited accusations against another general who “together with Antoni Macierewicz led to the liquidation of the military university, which turned into the Academy of Military Arts, from which several dozen outstanding professors were dismissed.”
According to the deputy minister, the changes introduced by Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the Ministry of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz are necessary “in the name of the principle stated by Prime Minister Donald Tusk, that the army should be apolitical.”
The personnel decisions were criticised on social media by former head of the Ministry of National Defence and leader of the PiS parliamentary club, Mariusz Błaszczak.
Every chief has the right to shape his personnel policy, but dismissing experienced officers just because they were appointed under the previous government is nothing but political repression. The decision of the management of the Ministry of National Defense to resign had only one goal: to please Donald Tusk and the people of the eight stars who expect responsibility in the Polish army. Shame

Tomczyk responds to Błaszczak
Tomczyk commented on Błaszczak’s entry.
That is not true. Mariusz Błaszczak uses lies very often, also in this case
– he emphasized.
When Mr. Antoni Macierewicz became Minister of National Defense, several dozen generals, three hundred colonels, several hundred majors and a whole series of Polish army officers were dismissed. 80% of the General Staff disappeared. personal status. Today we are talking about de facto cosmetic changes that are necessary to prevent politics from creeping into the office of the Minister of Defense.
– said the deputy head of the Ministry of National Defense.
Last weekend, the media also reported that, at the request of the Allies, the procedure for dismissing Brigadier General Artur Jakubczyk of the International Military Staff at NATO headquarters was changed. As “Rzeczpospolita” reported earlier, the reason was said to be irregularities in the struggle for the head of the intelligence policy department of the Joint Intelligence and Security Department of NATO headquarters.
Jakubczyk was on the competition committee and is said to have given preference to one of the candidates, who came from Poland
– reported “Rz”. An additional accusation was the fact that the general’s behavior was described as “homophobic” and “racist”.
I think this is the first case in the modern history of Poland when NATO headquarters asks an officer to return home because the team he leads no longer wants to work with him.
– said Tomczyk.
The language of Cezary Tomczyk, as well as the decisions of Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, clearly indicate that the Ministry of National Defense and the Polish army are engaged in a ruthless political struggle. Politicians of the Coalition of December 13 have absolutely no regard for the security of Poland!
