“The budget sector is resentful of Tusk’s government for the fictitious 20 percent. increases. “‘Frustration is growing'” – this is the telling title of a text that appeared on the website adrescza.biz, the economic subpage of “Gazeta Wyborcza”. The article is about budget employees who feel cheated by the current government.
Despite the unrest, the government managed to achieve 20 percent increases for the public sector. The problem is that it was decided to include them in wages for the last day of 2023. Those who earned the national minimum wage before the increases ended up there again after the increases.
— explained in an article on the website Wyborcza.biz.
Therefore, the government managed to theoretically complete the budget and the promised increases. Theoretically, because there is still a large group of employees who feel cheated by Tusk and the new government
– marked.
“The government is collapsing”
The article contains many statements from angry public sector employees.
With great joy and hope we accepted the words of Prime Minister Tusk, who promised us 20 percent. increases. However, we really hoped that these increases would be aimed at saving the budget and appreciating our powers, and not just a legal necessity.
– said Edyta Różycka, head of the KRUS trade union, in an interview with rekrutacja.biz. The point is that the lowest earners did not benefit from Donald Tusk’s promise. Their salary increased simply because of the increase in the minimum wage.
The board is collapsing. The frustration is growing. Especially since all the administrative employees have also completed higher education. Some are looking for a new job. We were looking for an employee 2 years ago and no one came forward. Now we work together as a clerk, because the girl was fired and no one is interested in the job
– said Anna, the chief accountant of one of the Silesian schools.
There are also tensions among library staff.
I have a higher education and more than 20 years of experience. I graduated in history and postgraduate studies in information science. I work in the Digital Librarians’ Workshop. Last year I earned PLN 3,600 gross plus an internship allowance – 20%. base, total PLN 4,320 gross. From January there was an increase in the minimum wage to PLN 4,242, so my base increased by that much, now in July I also had a small increase, PLN 58 gross.
— Agnieszka Tulik, head of the National Library Employees’ Union (ZZPBN), presented her situation.
As you can see, Donald Tusk’s government has not fully fulfilled even the few promises it boasts of. Unions active in workplaces related to the budget sector announce protests in September.
