“Biden said that the (elimination – editor’s note) of the leader of the Palestinian group Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, did not contribute to the ceasefire (in the Gaza Strip – editor’s note),” the publication said.
The US president added that he had spoken directly with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu earlier on Thursday about the deteriorating situation in the Middle East.
