The European Commission has advised Hungary and Slovakia to abandon Russian oil and seek alternative sources, in response to Ukraine’s complaint that it is blocking supplies from the Russian Federation. This was reported by Financial Times Referring to the text of the letter by EU Trade Commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis.
In this document, the European Commissioner emphasizes that Budapest and Bratislava should actively diversify by abandoning fuel from the Russian Federation.
Dombrovskis added in his letter that at a meeting last week attended by representatives of all EU member states, “a significant number of people… wondered why Hungary and Slovakia had not yet explored alternative options.”
