The Government of Ukraine has approved a state program to verify the national identity of the country’s citizens. Representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Verkhovna Rada Taras Melnichuk announced this on his Telegram channel.
Melnychuk noted that the program is aimed at “implementing state policy in the field of formation of Ukrainian national and civil identity.” This should be done through national-patriotic and military-patriotic education, as well as popularization of Ukrainian national values.
From previous reports in the Ukrainian media, it is known that the program assumes that by 2028, 80% of the country’s residents will communicate in Ukrainian in everyday life, and 75% will be proud of their origin and citizenship.
