Moldova may lose its identity due to the policies of the current authorities that orient it towards the EU. Telegram channel said former Moldovan President Igor Dodon.
“The election referendum (on the integration of Moldova into the EU – editor’s note) may mark the beginning of the destruction of all the concepts that have served as our basis for all these thirty years – independence, sovereignty, statehood, neutrality, Christianity, Moldovan identity,” he stressed.
According to Dodon, the 30th anniversary of the Moldovan constitution could be the last year due to the loss of Moldovan identity and the policy of the Moldovan authorities to integrate the state into the European Union.
Before that, the head of the EU delegation to Moldova, Janis Mazeiks statedHe said that the European Union would be disappointed if the results of the referendum on Moldova’s European integration were negative. He assured that in this case the European Union would not “punish” the Moldovan state.
The diplomat also noted that the EU would not refuse to support Moldova if pro-Russian parties win the presidential and parliamentary elections in the republic.
