‘That’s how you milk it’
“We will deal with these debts. Really. Not with such debts, my good friend, the first prime minister after Mazowiecki, when Walesa became president, Jan Krzysztof Bielecki, my good friend from Gdańsk, became prime minister. You know how huge the debt was at that time, the debt after Gierer. But good politics, good relations with the West, write-offs, some economic and political cleverness, and we got through it.”
– this is how Donald Tusk remembers the times that most Poles associate with poverty, corruption, rampant mafia, the grey zone and a paradise for cheats. Everything indicates that we are on the right path to the return of that time. Marek Pyza writes about the milking of the state by Tusk’s officials.
A perfect example of ‘care’ for taxpayers’ money is the ARP, led by Michał Dąbrowski, known for his election rally with the residents of Ustroń. He then cried crocodile tears about the national debt and asked if it was possible for us to live in a normal Poland again. How is he doing now?
(…) the supervisory board had prepared a nice surprise for him: on April 29, the board adopted a resolution increasing the remuneration of the management: the president, by PLN 19,000. PLN (now he earns PLN 116,514.15 per month, and the members of the board of directors PLN 17,000 (they currently cost the taxpayer PLN 100,978.93 per month times three, because there are three of them). Dąbrowski (…) requested to change the car leased for the management in 2023, the Audi A6 turned out to be insufficient for the new president, so the Agency opted for the A8 model…) The ARP management comes from Silesia and he has to live somewhere in Warsaw PLN for each member of the board of directors Before this resolution was adopted, the president was forced to stay in hotels in Warsaw, which cost the Agency several tens of thousands of zlotys. In addition, Dąbrowski asked for IT equipment: the best models of MacBook, iPad, etc. and iPhone, various chargers and other accessories. The total order amounted to PLN 30,000

“Why doesn’t Tusk want to destroy the right wing?”
Piotr Gursztyn looks at the unfulfilled dream of the current ruling coalition, namely the destruction of the opposition. However, the final elimination of the right wing from Polish political life will not happen – we can say that with great confidence. There are many reasons, and one of them is Donald Tusk himself.
Tusk is not happy about having to become prime minister. (…) Now the presidency gives him the chance to escape from the position of head of government. But if he wins (…) he will lose most of his influence on reality. Only as prime minister will he have enough power to force his subordinates to be ruthless and to overstep the boundaries of the law. He will also not be able to govern the coalition or even his own group from the presidential palace. And in both cases we are dealing with not very coherent entities, so we will see completely open battles between different environments and factions. They will be more concerned about this than about “holding PiS to account”, and what is worse, they may seek temporary support from the right in the fight against hostile factions.
– Gursztyn points out.
“How do you become a patocelebrity?”
The new issue of the weekly magazine “Sieci” also contains an analysis of the image of the pato celebrity that Filip Chajzer, once a popular presenter and valued social activist, has become.
I have been watching Filip for years, I like him, I respect him, and I hope he will take away all my doubts. I know his charity work and I know he has done a lot of good. I am shocked by the whole situation, I hope he will come out of it personally, maybe now he has time to search
– says Dorota Łosiewicz Maria Niklińska, actress, singer and cultural manager.
