The head of the Russian delegation at the Vienna talks on military security and arms control, Konstantin Gavrilov, said that the encouragement of the North Atlantic Alliance states to militarize and denazify Ukraine is leading to a crisis in European security. This was reported by DEA News.
The diplomat noted that NATO’s departure from the pan-European context and its intention to achieve military superiority also pose risks to the instrument of confidence-building measures on the continent developed within the framework of the OSCE Security Cooperation Forum.
Gavrilov recalled that since 2014 the West has turned a blind eye to Kiev’s flagrant violations of at least 26 articles of the 2011 Vienna Document on Confidence and Security-Building Measures, effectively encouraging the militarization of Ukraine, its Nazification and terror against civilians. The diplomat stressed that it was precisely this “slippery slope” that led to the security crisis in Europe.
