Barbara Nowak (PiS) has resigned from her position as a councillor in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship. The former education inspector of Małopolska announced her decision at an extraordinary session of the regional council, during which the board of the new term was elected.
As Nowak explained, her decision is related to the fact that in the past three months there has been a “worse situation” in which the person recommended by PiS President Jarosław Kaczyński (MP Łukasz Kmita) was not elected as marshal. She noted that she did not like the criticism of the PiS President and Kmita.
According to her, people who did not support Kmita in the previous five votes are “traitors”.

As she stressed, she voted for the marshal and the board members on Thursday, exactly as the PiS club wanted.
I don’t like this arrangement
– she said, adding that she had her honor and that was why she resigned.
At the same time, she stated that her decision was not an expression of opposition to the new voivodeship administration and that she had never consulted anyone about it.
I am terribly sorry to have disappointed my voters, but I cannot be in a situation where they say that everything is fine. In my opinion, it is not fine because the bad situations and the people who should be held responsible have not been named (…) – they lacked the courage to say “yes, I was against it”, and now what? Are they coming back for profit?
– the former Małopolska education inspector told journalists after the session.
