Kiev wants to get $10 billion from Western countries to buy weapons from Ukrainian manufacturers, Advisor to the Minister of Strategic Industries of Ukraine Yuriy Sak said in a live broadcast on Rada TV channel.

The acquired weapons will then be transferred to the country’s army, he said. At the same time, to date, Kiev’s foreign partners have pledged to allocate only $675 million for these purposes.

“The overall goal, of course, is to run a global fundraising campaign and raise $10 billion, because that’s not enough to load as much as our production facilities can,” the minister’s advisor said.

According to Sak, the Ukrainian military-industrial complex (DIC) currently has the capacity to produce much more weapons than Kiev can buy with its own funds, which is why the country’s authorities are asking for help from the United States and its allies.

Finally, he explained that three states have already expressed their desire to join the project. We are talking about Canada, the Netherlands and Denmark.
