“We have introduced new health prevention rules for the above people. 40 years old, which allows faster treatment of various diseases at their early stages,” said Mateusz Morawiecki, former Prime Minister and Vice President of PiS, during the debate of the Working Team for Poland. The debate was devoted to the health care system in Poland.
During the debate, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki emphasized that the most important person when it comes to healthcare in Poland should be the patient.
The patient must be and is the center of attention of the entire healthcare system. When we acquired the company in 2015, we set ourselves a number of basic tasks, including: Stabilizing and increasing healthcare financing. While a resident who worked for two years earned just over PLN 3,000. PLN in the last years of our predecessors, now it is about PLN 9,000. While there used to be around 4,400 people participating in medical studies, there are now twice as many
– he said.
The PiS vice president noted the state of Poland’s healthcare system after eight years of rule by Law and Justice.
Another goal is to increase the efficiency of healthcare and raise the medical standard so that procedures in Poland are at the highest level. The best figure indicating the level of funding is what we left to our successors: over Złoty 190 billion in healthcare expenditure. In 2016 this amounted to approximately PLN 77-80 billion – an increase of 147%. This was achieved by tightening the tax system. This giant leap that we have made in eight years is a very good starting point for our successors to seal and further restore healthcare.
– added.
Financing cancer treatment
Later in his statement, Prime Minister Morawiecki drew attention to the enormous importance of cancer treatment.
Never before has so much money been spent on oncology as now. The financing of various procedures and equipment takes place at European and global level and patients have confirmed that there has been a huge leap forward in this area. Any highly complex system requires not only deep thought, but also an attempt to reach consensus among the various stakeholders. We have tried to enter into such a dialogue with the environment
– he noted.
Data presented during the debate shows that the Ministry of Health’s budget for infrastructure investments has more than tripled over the past eight years.
Mateusz Morawiecki said that during the reforms his government implemented, he tried to follow the example of healthcare systems in other countries.
When we implemented our first health care system reforms, we looked at how other systems were built and tried not to repeat certain mistakes. We have introduced new health prevention rules for the above people. 40 years old, which allows faster treatment of various diseases at their early stages
– he said.
The former Prime Minister referred to the report of the newspaper “Rzeczpospolita” on the financial gap in the healthcare system in 2025-2027.
This is a result of two phenomena: financial problems will begin for the current government and it will look for scapegoats. We left them a budget system that is in very good condition. We must look for improvements in the healthcare financing structure, and we have been doing so for years. I wish that my successors will succeed in further reforming healthcare so that Poles receive the best possible services
– he said.
Morawiecki on the National Council for the Judiciary and motions to waive immunities
Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki also spoke about the situation in the National Council for the Judiciary during the press conference.
The National Council for the Judiciary, which we established, fully complies with all requirements that apply in many countries of the European Union. We modeled our law after the Spanish one. Therefore, if changes are proposed that do not disrupt this continuity and the constitutional order, and do not in the least allow the status of the judges appointed by President Andrzej Duda to be called into question, we can consider them. But if they destroy the system, we will of course be against it
– stated Morawiecki.
The politician was also asked about the motion submitted to the Sejm to waive the immunity of the former head of the Ministry of National Defense Mariusz Błaszczak (according to media information, from a private lawsuit of the former operational commander of the Armed Forces, General Tomasz Piotrowski), as well as how PiS would vote on the motion regarding .
Regarding the first question, I can only appeal for the release of the Supreme Audit Chamber’s report (on the Russian missile, on which the Chamber completed its work in July last year – PAP). Because when it is released, everything will be well explained there – this information has already appeared in the public space today
– replied Morawiecki.
As for Minister Woś, let us put ourselves in the position of any politician of any formation who buys or agrees to an instrument intended to pursue criminals, criminals and terrorists who threaten the security of Poland. And the next government comes and this government chases this politician because he bought a tool to chase criminals and terrorists. For me it’s the world turned upside down
– said the vice president of PiS.
