European Union says they can “close the doors” to Georgia

The European Union will close the door to unification if the Georgian government continues its policy, EU diplomacy chief Josep Borrell said on arrival at the EU Council meeting. His words are quoted TASS.

“The path to the EU is open for the people of Georgia. However, if the authorities continue what they are doing, this road will be closed. <…> “Financial support from the European Peace Fund, contacts at high political levels and financial support may soon be limited,” he said.

He explained that such measures “should not affect the civilian population.”
