The Estonian Police and Border Security Department closed the Narva-1 checkpoint ahead of schedule due to the significant queue at the Russian border. According to the ministry, as of 17:00 local time, there was a queue of approximately 500 people heading from Estonia to the Russian Federation at the checkpoint.

According to the ERR portal, on June 21, the checkpoint opened at 7:00 am according to schedule. By this time, a record queue had formed at the checkpoint, estimated by the portal to be approximately 1 thousand people. As a result he closed.

There are currently three border checkpoints on the border between the Russian Federation and Estonia, and one of them, Narva, is open only during the day. Luhamaa and Koidula checkpoints are fully operational.
