It is unimaginable that Polish citizens using the social assistance system would be treated worse in any way, Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk said in Polsat News, referring to the asylum directive. She assured that the government would renegotiate it.
Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk, Minister of Family, Labor and Social Policy, was asked whether the EU Asylum Directive of 14 May 2024, according to which migrants should receive the right to social benefits at the expense of taxpayers in every EU country, has already in force in Poland. She replied that “the time for implementation (of the directive – PAP) has been postponed.”

She stated that “we must talk responsibly about our expectations as Poland towards our partners from the European Union when it comes to migration policy.”
Poland accepted migrants and refugees from Ukraine, and in my opinion the European Union still does not sufficiently recognize this enormous effort.
– she remembered.
Asked whether the entry into force of the directive would mean that social benefits for migrants in Poland and Germany would be identical, she replied that “such a situation is difficult to imagine”.
Migration policy must also be based on integration, also on guaranteeing equal treatment of foreigners who come to us, but on equal treatment, and not on privileged treatment
– emphasized the minister.
She added that it is in the interest of Polish citizens that migrants coming to Poland are treated equally, but “not in a particularly better way.”
Assurances from the minister
It is unimaginable that Polish citizens who benefit from the social assistance system, who benefit from benefits, from benefits, would be treated worse in any way.
– noted Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk. She believed that “these terms need to be renegotiated.”
At least since December 13, at least since the change of power in Poland, Poland has once again become a dialogue partner. We are not offended by the European Union, but where it represents positions that are contrary to Poland’s raison d’être, we will say so loudly.
– she pointed.
She assured that “we are now starting conversations, starting dialogue and starting renegotiations. I expect that both this directive and other EU solutions will provide as much room for dialogue.
Looking at the actions of Donald Tusk’s government, you may have serious concerns and perhaps even the belief that it will only end with pompous statements. Unfortunately, we still have a lot to look forward to.
