“Polish soldiers have the right to use weapons against people who destroy our border fortifications, cross the border illegally and do not follow orders,” Krzysztof Bosak, deputy chairman of the Sejm, said in an interview with Radio Zet.
The Confederation politician referred to the events on the Polish-Belarusian border, which – although the public learned about them with a delay – stirred the whole of Poland. We are, of course, talking about the death of a Polish soldier injured by a migrant, and the detention of three other Polish soldiers, which took place shortly before the migrant’s attack on 21-year-old Mateusz Sitek.
What paralyzes the actions of soldiers?
Krzysztof Bosak was asked in an interview with Radio Zet whether the detention and handcuffs of Polish soldiers is paralyzing the army at the border. The Vice-Chairman of the Sejm answered this question in the negative.
If anything is paralyzing, it is bad command or bad action by the prosecutor’s office, the realization by officers or soldiers that if they perform their duties decisively and act as the Border Protection Corps acted 100 years ago, they will simply end up in prison. and are charged.
– he assessed.
Polish soldiers have the right to use weapons against people who destroy our border fortifications, cross the border illegally and do not follow orders.
– added the politician, noting that we have “several types of weapons”, including smoothbore weapons and even stun guns that work at greater distances.
Seven to eight years ago, during the crisis, watering machines were used at the border with Hungary. But apparently we have no legal basis for that either
– Bosak noted. According to the politician, both the previous and current governments are “flexing their muscles for society”, while the uniformed services do not have the necessary equipment and support.

Bosak: Kosiniak-Kamysz must leave
Krzysztof Bosak also recalled that the Confederation reported to the Ministry of National Defense last week that officers and soldiers were receiving “magazines with glued bullets.”
It’s practice. There is pressure on soldiers to be formally equipped with weapons and live ammunition, but in practice not to use them and not be able to use them quickly and easily.
– said the guest from Radio Zet.
He added that there is pressure from above among officers and soldiers to “act economically, (…), humanely and not accidentally harm anyone.”
When asked about the project announced by Prime Minister Donald Tusk, which provides for the deployment of the army in the country without declaring a state of emergency, Bosak said the Confederation would support this proposal. According to the deputy marshal, clarification of the regulations is needed.
Such rules were already proposed by the National Security Bureau during the previous term of the Sejm and the ruling majority, PiS and Kaczyński themselves rejected these rules, and now everyone is suddenly interested
– he assessed.
When asked about the Deputy Prime Minister and head of the Ministry of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, the politician said he should resign.
He had to leave because he hid the situation at the border for too long and did not equip his soldiers
– said Bosak.
