Marek Sawicki said in Radio Plus that in his opinion Prime Minister Donald Tusk will soon be the official candidate of the Civic Coalition for the President of the Republic of Poland. “Torn apart PiS is a major threat to Donald Tusk in the second round of elections,” said the PSL MP.
The senior marshal of the Sejm of the 10th term stated in a conversation with Jacek Prusinowski that he did not believe in the candidacy of Rafał Trzaskowski in the race for the presidential palace. He stated with full confidence that Donald Tusk would run for the Civic Coalition in the 2025 elections.
Politicians announce different things, but the facts prove the opposite. Not only do I not believe in it, but many Civic Platform politicians do not believe in it and I assure you that in six months Donald Tusk will be the official presidential candidate and I wish him victory, but this whole situation certainly makes it of the Civic Platform here, the Civic Coalition and its ministers towards PiS are often not entirely effective due to the fact that the Civic Coalition needs a strong PiS for the presidential elections
– noted the experienced politician.
Crushing PiS is a major threat to Donald Tusk in the second round of elections
– added.
Has Tusk grown up?
The People’s Party politician stated that Prime Minister Tusk had changed his position on the government’s migration policy and ensuring the security of the country’s eastern border.
I am glad that Prime Minister Donald Tusk finally realizes that this border needs to be strengthened. Because four years ago, three years ago, in 2021, he was still not completely convinced
– said Sawicki.
You look at things differently from the side, outside the government, and you look at certain things differently when you have full knowledge of the services, of the army, of the police, of the border guard, and here Prime Minister Donald Tusk does not have that. ignore the signals coming from these services
– added.
State of the coalition
The politician also commented on the left’s program proposals. In his opinion, this party’s program is too utopian, which is mainly based on a return to socialism and a benefit policy.
Everyone carries out part of their own program (…) everyone wants to achieve something, so pay attention to the conflicts that arise, for example, around housing policy. The left believes that we should return to socialism and that the state should build apartments for everyone and give them away for free. Szymon Hołownia leans towards this idea, although he previously believed that the proposal of a cheap, permanent loan was a better idea. proposal
– noted Sawicki.
He added that he was satisfied with the change in approach of Szymon Hołownia, who – according to him – moved away from radical anti-PiS rhetoric and developed “offers for the future”.
I am very happy that young people are learning, and Szymon Hołownia, even though he is the current marshal, is a marshal younger than me. I have been saying for at least six or seven years that anti-PiS alone is not enough and everyone has joked about it, mocked it a bit. Today I see that Szymon Hołownia also returns to, so to speak, the old truths that people of course want settlements, but they also need offers for the future
– he assessed.
