PO’s Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz, who is running in the European Parliament elections, attacked NBP President Adam Glapiński. “He must be held accountable as soon as possible for breaking the law and violating the dignity and seriousness of the office,” the former Warsaw president said in a special interview for PAP. Gronkiewicz-Waltz remained silent for a long time when the Reprivatization Verification Commission began its work, but ultimately did not appear before it.
At the end of March, a motion was submitted by 191 MPs from the ruling coalition to have NBP President Adam Glapiński brought before the Court of Justice. He was accused of violating the constitution and laws, including: by indirectly financing the budget deficit as part of asset purchases in 2020-2021, i.e. when the pandemic was raging in Poland. The government subsequently rescued businesses and households by introducing further protective shields.

– said Gronkiewicz-Waltz, referring to the motion to summon the president of the NBP before the State Tribunal.
According to her, there must be an investigation into “all documents to which the judges of the State Tribunal have access” as soon as possible and a ruling must be reached.
