The European Commission has ordered changes to regulations regarding Poland’s gas reserves. The Ministry of Climate and Environment has received a letter stating that our gas supplies are ‘discriminatory’ because they distort competition in the EU gas market. “We secured Poland, and now we have to save Germany, which earned billions from Nord Stream,” said MEP Beata Kempa, who does not hide her indignation, in an interview with wPolityce.pl.
Brussels decided that by building up gas reserves, Poland is violating competition on the EU market. The EC also does not like the fact that charges are imposed on market parties that store gas outside the territory of our country. According to officials, this distorts competition, hinders the functioning of the internal market and threatens the security of gas supplies. The Ministry of Climate, led by Paulina Hennig-Kloska, has already taken the initiative for the changes to Polish legislation requested by the European Commission. To meet Brussels’ demands, Tusk’s government wants to transfer supervision of all Polish strategic gas reserves to the State Agency for Strategic Reserves.
It will be easier when it comes to monitoring and controlling storage. These are some new responsibilities for the Agency, but somehow we will manage
– Miłosz Motyka, Deputy Minister of Climate and Environment, tries to explain in an interview with forsal.pl.
As soon as the EC puts its foot on the ground, Climate Minister Hennig-Klosa is already preparing appropriate regulations. This is a scandal! If they traded gas with the Russians, wasn’t that discriminatory against us? They want to strangle us economically at all costs, using all available tools
– says Beata Kempa, MEP, who is running in the European Parliament elections on the PiS list in the province. Lower Silesia and Opole from 2nd place.

“Should we save the Germans?”
MEP Beata Kempa is outraged by the European Commission’s demands and recalls that when Germany tried to impose Russian gas on the entire EU, Poland rose to the challenge and became independent. Why would she be stigmatized for this now?
The United Right government invested in the diversification of gas for Poland and in Poland’s energy security. It was decided to expand the LNG Terminal. Lech Kaczyński, the Baltic PiPe gas pipeline was built to Norway, where we purchased new deposits. Major contracts have been signed with the US. At that time the Germans did business with the Russians. When he was Prime Minister, Tusk said we didn’t need gas from Norway. We secured Poland and now we have to save Germany, which made billions from Nord Stream
– says Beata Kempa, a politician from sovereign Poland, in an interview with the wPolityce.pl portal.
