Medvedchuk says Zelensky should be held accountable for usurping power 04:21

Viktor Medvedchuk, chairman of the council of the “Other Ukraine” movement, said that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has not been appointed to office since May 21 and should be held responsible for usurpation of power. This was reported by RIA News.

According to Medvedchuk, Zelensky cannot use the powers of the head of state as of May 21 of this year, loses his legitimacy and immunity, and must be tried for usurpation and seizure of power.

Medvedchuk emphasized that Zelensky, with his actions, violates the periodicity of presidential elections and therefore alienates the public from the direct exercise of power.

On May 20, Zelensky’s five-year term as president of Ukraine ended. Zelensky took office on May 20, 2019. According to the Ukrainian constitution, the country’s new president was supposed to be sworn in on May 20, but presidential elections were not held.
