Podlaskie, therefore consequences had to be drawn, said PiS President Jarosław Kaczyński. “It was revenge because Mr Jurgiel was not on the list of candidates for the European Parliament. Moreover, he said that we would regret it and we can say that he kept his word,” said Jarosław Kaczyński.
PiS spokesperson Rafał Bochenek announced that Jarosław Kaczyński had suspended the former Minister of Agriculture, current MEP Krzysztof Jurgiel, from the rights of a member of this group.
Jurgiel said on Friday that he had not received an official decision from PiS authorities.

The PiS president believed that his party had lost power in the local government of Podlaskie Voivodeship the result of “Jurgiel’s revenge”. According to him, the MEP should regret that he was not on the list of PiS candidates in the European Parliament elections.

Two weeks ago, the government’s coalition groups, backed by two PiS councilors, led to the election of a new chairman of the Podlasie Regional Council, and later of the region’s board of directors. In this way, the United Right, which was in power in this assembly last term, lost this power, although after the elections it had half the seats in the 30-member assembly.
Łukasz Prokorym (KO) became the marshal of the new term. He nominated Wiesława Burnos and Marek Malinowski as deputy marshals; both entered the regional assembly through the PiS list and were members of the voivodeship council in the previous term. In a secret ballot they received 16 votes in favor and 14 against. The remaining two seats on the voivodeship board went to Trzecia Droga and KO; Third Road also has a city council president.
