“We have launched a legislative initiative and established a committee to stop price increases from July 1. We will collect signatures for a citizens’ project in the coming weeks,” said PiS politicians Mariusz Błaszczak and Waldemar Buda, referring to the announced increases in energy and gas prices from July 1.
As the head of the PiS club, Mariusz Błaszczak, said at today’s press conference: “Tusk’s government is trying to ruin Polish households.”
If nothing changes, Poles will face pressure on their wallets from July 1 in the form of huge increases in energy prices, gas prices, water and sewage prices. If we add to this the increase in food prices from April 1 and the still high fuel prices, we are dealing with a drastic process that is affecting the basic existence of Polish families. To prevent this, KP PiS has submitted a bill to freeze energy prices. This is exactly the same solution we used when we were in power

Energy prices could rise by as much as 35% and gas prices by 45%.

The head of the PiS club complained that the price freeze project, written by PiS, was lost somewhere in Marshal Hołownia’s “parliamentary freezer”.
Unfortunately, our project to freeze energy prices was buried somewhere deep in the Marshal’s office. On the other hand, Tusk’s government will pass a law today that will reportedly ensure that the increase will not be so drastic. I say supposedly because it is one big fraud. Their project itself presupposes wage increases

To stop this process, PiS, as he said, has launched a legislative initiative and created a committee that will present a citizen project: ‘Stop price increases from July’. The committee consists of the PiS leadership, led by President Jarosław Kaczyński.
We will submit an application for registration of the commission to the Marshal of Hołownia

This will be a citizen project. We are convinced that hundreds of thousands of Poles will sign it

The determination of the opposition
Former head of the Ministry of Energy and Technology Waldemar Buda assured that Jarosław Kaczyński’s party will use all available methods to block future increases.
We must use all instruments to stop the increases from July 1. That is why the initiative is called ‘Stop price increases from July’

In the coming weeks we will collect signatures in every municipality, in every city. And we make a call from this place: as soon as we have a registered initiative, we ask everyone to sign it
– Buda appealed.
He added that if they collected more than PLN 100,000 before June 15. signatures, the bill will be submitted to the Chairman of the Sejm.

According to the constitution, the legislative initiative rests with a group of at least 100,000 people. citizens who have the right to vote in the Sejm. The regulations state that, after collecting a thousand signatures in support of the bill, the representative of the legislative initiative committee shall inform the chairman of the Sejm of the creation of the committee. If the notification meets the conditions laid down in the Law on the Exercise of Legislative Initiative by Citizens, the President of the Sejm shall decide to accept the notification within 14 days of its dispatch. The bill, together with the attached list of signatures of citizens supporting the bill, may be submitted no later than three months after the date of the decision of the Chairman of the Sejm to accept the notification of the establishment of the committee.
