Michał Ostrowski, deputy to Attorney General Adam Bodnar, announced on the X platform that he had received a corruption proposal “in the sense of the code of patriotic behavior.” The aim was for him to stop talking about illegal actions related to the new government’s attack on the prosecutor’s office, in return for which he would receive peace and the opportunity to continue working undisturbed at the prosecutor’s office. I recently had a prosecutor in my office who made me a corruption proposal. Maybe not in a criminal way, but in a much more fundamental way. In the sense of the code of patriotic behavior. I replied: NO! I will spare this person public disgrace. Firstly, because she had the courage to come to me personally, secondly, because she is not a naval officer, and thirdly, because she has an extremely delicate mental structure. What is important is not the person, but what he came with and who he came from. The meaning of the proposal I heard was clear. Michał, stop lashing out, stop accusing THEM of crimes, threatening them, stigmatizing them, and then they will leave you alone. You’re going to work on something, no matter what happens, the money will flow and it will be fun

This is how the masks fall. After all, if my actions were illegal and unreasonable, it would mean that I have committed serious violations. What am I doing: I have been questioning the prosecutor’s office authorities for weeks from THEIR perspective. I am trying to restore legal status before January 12, 2024. The man is trying to overthrow the authorities of the prosecutor’s office, to overthrow it – someone might say. And an emissary is sent to such a person with an offer to forgive… well, what? Crimes? I suspect so, because the usurpers themselves, albeit quietly, made such accusations against me between the lines of their interviews.

A full-blooded prosecutor would never make such an offer to anyone who would raise his hand against his institution. Only someone with a bad conscience, who knows that he or she is doing wrong and acting illegally, can do this. He has no substantive arguments to defend himself, so he resorts to tricks straight from the political world. Or the mafia. Let go and we will let you live. But I will not give up applying the law! If I let go, I wouldn’t be able to look myself in the mirror. I never doubted for a moment whether it was worth it. It’s just the way it should be. Like every prosecutor, I was called to be the guardian of the law. It is a mission, an obligation to my fellow countrymen. I realize that I run the risk of being dismissed from my profession in a sham procedure. I am willing to take this risk, fully aware of its magnitude

Proc. Ostrowski presented how illegal Adam Bodnar’s actions were when it comes to replacing the National Attorney General.
This is how I have to act, because you can’t fire the National Prosecutor by handing him a piece of paper written based on three vague legal opinions. By withdrawing it with something that is not even a decision, against which the law has designated an appeal. An acting National Prosecutor cannot be appointed in his place because such a position does not exist. And then, in a set competition, appoint another disguised person to fill the seat. These were illegal and scandalous moves. They only served to take over the prosecutor’s office and start a political circus of settlements, with the baton in the hands of the prime minister, who announces press conferences of the ‘national prosecutor’.

This lopsided structure, whose design was not conceived in the minds of the plaintiffs, is beginning to falter. I have just learned that one of Warsaw’s line prosecutors has expressed her opposition to the usurpers in the form of a procedural decision. I will dedicate a separate article to it because it is worth it. Contrary to editor @EwaIvanova’s opinion, this prosecutor is not a rebel. In the same way, I am not a rebel. Editor, please don’t violate semantics! THEY are the rebels. Overwhelmers. They sold themselves to politicians. We only defend the law. We do what we have to do, what we are called to do. WE DON’T GIVE UP!
