So that it is not decided by a politician or a politician in a dress. In the dress I thought of a black person, I thought of a priest – said Prime Minister Donald Tusk in the context of the referendum and the government’s decision on the abortion law. On the one hand, he also said that abortion is not good, and on the other hand, that women should have the right to it.
In the context of the referendum on abortion, Tusk insulted priests and called them ‘politicians in a dress’. He was asked about the debate on abortion bills and the referendum on this.
I do not want to decide whether a referendum on this point is moral or immoral. The problem is that in the Polish legal system a referendum decides nothing. Even if the turnout is more than 50 percent, the referendum is not law in Poland. We can approve the constitution in a referendum and decide on matters such as accession to the European Union. Then the referendum is binding and politicians have nothing to do with it. There is a decision of the people, the nation and that’s it. However, a referendum on what the future law should look like is an opinion poll
– said the Prime Minister.
He explained that the Sejm would have to vote on the bill later and the president would have to sign it.
In that sense, I find it a bit of a treat for people’s eyes that the referendum solves something. Perhaps it offers politicians comfort because it is easier for some to say: “let the people decide, then I don’t have to take a binding position.” Everyone is entitled to this approach. The problem is that a referendum is not a decisive form of anything. That’s why I remain skeptical about this idea
– added.
Abortion is not a good thing and in my opinion never will be a good thing. This must be handled very carefully. We are talking about a woman’s right to decide about her own health, motherhood and her sense of security
– said the head of government.
Tusk insults priests
Don’t let a politician or a politician in a dress decide that. I was thinking of a black dress in a dress, I was thinking of a priest, just to be clear, because the minister is currently also a politician in a dress
– said the leader of the PO, confusing his words and attacking the clergy.
In an attempt to explain himself, he pointed to the Minister of Family, Labor and Social Policy, Agnieszka Ewa Dziemianowicz-BÄ…k, who participated in the press conference with him.
I can now declare that we will vote to move all projects to committee work. I have the impression that Marshal (Szymon) Hołownia said the same thing. As far as I know, Prime Minister (Władysław) Kosiniak-Kamysz is unlikely to say that he guarantees that all PSL MPs will vote, because these are still individual decisions. In every club there are people who have such a fundamental view on this subject that they can somehow behave differently
– added.
The head of government therefore attacks clerics who emphasize the Church’s teaching on the protection of man from the moment of conception, although he himself emphasizes that “in his opinion, abortion will never be a good thing.” Where is the consistency and consistency here? By attacking priests, he also echoes SÅ‚awomir Nitras’ call to ‘see Catholics’.
