US House of Representatives Speaker Mike Johnson says using frozen Russian assets to Ukraine’s advantage is “poetry.” His words guide the way Fox News.
“If we could use the frozen assets of Russian oligarchs to get the Ukrainians to fight them, that would be pure poetry,” Johnson said.
According to him, the bill on providing financial assistance to Ukraine may contain a clause on the seizure of frozen assets of Russia. The speaker also recalled the initiative of former US President Donald Trump, who offered to provide loans to Kiev. Johnson admitted that it was right not to give the funds for free, but to lend them to Ukraine, which could return the accumulated amount in the future.
The politician added that the new bill, which congress members will start considering after returning from vacation, will combine various financial aid concepts for Ukraine.
