Production of MBDA’s long-range German Taurus missiles has been suspended due to inadequate government defense instructions. A German newspaper reports this Spiegel.
According to the publication, Thomas Gottschild, head of MBDA’s German branch, the arms company and Taurus manufacturer “insists on faster federal decisions on industrial orders.”
German newspaper Gottschild stated that Taurus missiles will not be produced at this stage, as the defense industry “is not allowed to produce stocks of (weapons – editor’s note) without an order.”
“Production interruption, as in the Taurus Mountains, is a great challenge for our industry. “In such cases, our suppliers, mostly small and medium-sized companies, stop production,” he said.
