“This has consequences for the entire poorer group, namely 70%. a society that lives on the average or the minimum wage,” says Waldemar Buda of PiS about the VAT increase on Telewizja wPoland. As the former Minister of Development and Technology explained, it is all a “matter of priorities”, which for Tusk are not the neediest. The politician also informed about the preparation of an application to the Prime Minister’s Office for reimbursement of the difference between PLN 5.19 and what we pay at the gas station.
Waldemar Buda, who appeared in the studio of Telewizja wPoland, referred to the VAT increase on food that will be introduced in a few days. He compared the actions of the government of Mateusz Morawiecki with the decisions of the government of Donald Tusk.
It is a matter of priorities, that is, determining what is important and who we should support. Our philosophy was clear: these were the poorest and moderately rich people, because the richest can cope. Among the least prosperous people, food makes up about 27 percent. The monthly expenses were intended to provide help to people who found themselves in the most difficult situation. Now we have two parallel decisions: on the one hand, a reduction in the VAT rate for the beauty industry and a simultaneous increase in food prices. This clearly shows what Donald Tusk is playing and what their priorities are. This has consequences for the entire poorer group, namely 70%. a society that lives on an average or minimum wage. I will not talk about retirees or those who depend on others
– notes a PiS politician.

Inflation at Tusk’s request
According to the former Minister of Development and Technology, we will see an end to the decline in inflation in April.
So far we have also had a very favorable situation in terms of inflation. In February 2023, inflation fell month after month, now April will be the first month in which this process is stopped. This means that month-on-month inflation will increase in April. This will translate into a general increase in inflation. According to reports from the National Bank of Poland and PKO, this increase will be around 0.9%. and applies to all products. Every product and service will become more expensive by about 1%. However, we must also add the increase in energy prices in July, which will result in a further increase in inflation of 2.7%. Only these two decisions by Tusk will make everything more expensive
– Buda notes and adds that the Tusk government has consciously decided to increase inflation.
Until now, inflation had an external source, but the energy crisis led to a rise in inflation in Poland. For the first time since the war and Covid, we are faced with a situation in which we ourselves cause inflation by government decision. We must remember this moment. We increase inflation by a conscious and deliberate decision. While the previous government’s decisions were aimed at reducing inflation, this is the first time that the government has deliberately increased inflation
– says the PiS club parliamentarian. According to him, Poles will face a return to the situation known from Tusk’s previous government.
Of course we suspected that the same thing would come back i.e. there is no money and there will be no salary increase. Remember 2012 when money leaked through the VAT mafia, causing VAT to increase from 22 to 23 percent. I won’t be surprised if Tusk will perform the same maneuver in two years. It is already firing the richest and cracking the system. In December and January we have a huge loss of VAT revenue, which means the VAT mafia and fraudsters are back in the game. They think that it will be possible to do business illegally again, and this will end with an increase in VAT and taxes for everyone. The first step is to increase VAT on food, but this is not the last word. Even Tusk’s rise to power is a signal that not everything has to be done fairly, because it will no longer be persecuted as it was during Pi’s reign.

The liquidation of the CBA is an invitation to criminals
In addition to the increase in VAT on food and expected higher energy prices, the liquidation of the Central Anti-Corruption Office is also planned. According to Buda, this is an invitation addressed to criminals.
This creates muddy water. When this institution is moved and reorganized, it is an opportunity to swim in muddy waters and do business by taking advantage of the slowness of services. The CBA prosecuted crime, including corruption, and now the teeth of this institution are being knocked out. Now it must be pigeonholed within the entire police force. Thanks to independence and the sole focus on corruption, we have achieved very tangible results, and now we can return to the level of Ukraine and Belarus. But we stopped doing that a long time ago, thanks to Mariusz Kamiński creating a special anti-corruption agency in the 2000s. Without this service there will be relaxation, many groups will want to be reborn and come to Poland, because they are now active abroad in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe. Crime will return to the streets
– warns Waldemar Buda. He also recalls that the liquidation of the CBA was not the only promise Tusk made during the election campaign.
On August 18 last year, Donald Tusk made a clear statement in Włocławek. He said that this issue was not difficult, specific actions would take place, let’s reduce fuel prices, if I were in power, gasoline would cost PLN 5.19. The barrel of oil is now exactly at the same level as at the time of these announcements. Therefore, there is no reason for him to introduce his wonderful solution. Unfortunately, we do not see it and the gasoline at the stations already costs PLN 7. Such an accurate announcement must therefore be assessed not only from a political, but also from a legal point of view. We found a provision on public promises that states that if someone makes these types of statements publicly, he or she is obligated to keep that promise. We have submitted an application to the Prime Minister’s Office to request a refund of the difference between PLN 5.19 and the amount we pay at the station. We attach a bill or invoice, attach a bank statement and send it to the Prime Minister’s Chancellery, and they have to refund the amount. We will later review how these claims are being processed and we will go to court on behalf of people who do not receive this refund. I was at two stations where we inquired about it and the drivers were furious because it cost several tens of zlotys on one fuel tank. And yet, in 100 specific details, it reduces VAT and ticket prices. These announcements were one of the guiding lights in decision-making during the elections on October 15
– notes the Member for Law and Justice, who also commented on the negotiations with Ukraine on the agricultural market.
Kosiniak-Kamysz and Tusk said during the campaign that all agri-food products from Ukraine to Poland should be blocked as this will stabilize the market. Now Poland has agreed at the European level to lift the embargo on wheat and it will be possible to import it to Poland without any restrictions. It has also been agreed that there will be no embargo on soft fruit and that there will be quotas for other products. All products will be able to enter Poland if our silos, warehouses and cold stores become clogged. Only then can we ask the European Commission to do something about it. This is drama. This is a village sale. Even before the harvest, there is a clear signal that the profitability of agricultural production in Poland is completely destroyed
– said the former Minister of Development and Technology.
