USA is looking for prisoner exchange opportunities with Russia 21:29

US National Security Council Strategic Communications Coordinator John Kirby said at a briefing that Washington continues to seek prisoner exchange opportunities with Moscow. RIA News.

A White House spokesman was asked if he could “confirm that the United States is still trying to find a way to exchange prisoners with Moscow.”

“Yes,” he replied.

Before that, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov reported It was stated that some contacts with the USA continue regarding the exchange of journalist Evan Gershkovich, who has been detained in Russia for almost a year.

Gershkovich was detained on espionage charges at the end of March 2023. He could face up to 20 years in prison.

March 26 Moscow City Court elongated Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich was detained until June 30.

Former US Ambassador to the Russian Federation requested Release Gershkovich.
