“We have sufficient majority to approve the application to the State Court for the President of the NBP, Adam Glapiński, even if the Razem Party does not support this application,” said the head of the KO Club, Zbigniew Konwiński. He added that a vote on the issue would likely take several months. This means that Tusk’s coalition intends to ignore the judgment of the Constitutional Tribunal, which ordered changes to the regulations and an increase in the required majority in the application for a Constitutional Tribunal for the President of the NBP to 3/ 5 of the votes in the Sejm. .
Yesterday, a group of parliamentarians from the ruling coalition filed a preliminary request to have NBP President Adam Glapiński brought before the State Tribunal. The authors of the motion accuse the NBP President of violating the Constitution of the Republic of Poland and laws related to his position or within the scope of his office. The central bank governor is accused of buying government bonds and state-guaranteed bonds issued by PFR and BGK during the pandemic.

NBP denies these allegations and recalls that the purchase was in accordance with the provisions of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union and with the provisions of the NBP Act. Moreover, his goal was providing liquidity to commercial banks from which it purchases the above-mentioned bonds. In those months, banks saw more and more cash withdrawals by customers.

We don’t need anything together
When the president of the KO Club, Zbigniew Konwiński, was asked about this case on TVP Info, he expressed his belief that the Sejm will vote on this motion and President Glapiński will be brought before the State Tribunal.
Konwiński explained that the initial proposal to sue the NBP president before the State Tribunal will first go to the Constitutional Accountability Commission, and along the way there will be a number of hearings and committee meetings, and only at the end will a vote take place in parliament . the Sejm.
We have enough majority to adopt the motion before the Supreme Court for President Glapiński, even if the Razem Party does not support this motion. There is a sufficient, absolute majority
– said Konwiński. He admitted that the motion would not be voted on immediately; according to him, it’s probably a matter of a few months.
We also look for votes outside the governing coalition, in all other places where this is possible. After the European elections, several things will still happen in the environment of the current United Right
– added the head of the Civic Coalition club.
The Sejm’s decision to summon the Prime Minister and Ministers to the State Tribunal will be taken if at least 3/5 (276) of parliamentarians vote in favor of the resolution on this issue. The Constitutional Tribunal has ordered that the regulations in this regard be amended and that the chairman of the NBP be added to this list. In accordance with the provisions of the Constitutional Court which have been questioned by the Constitutional Court, the Sejm may hold the President of the NBP constitutionally liable by means of a resolution adopted by an absolute majority of votes in the presence of at least half of the legal number of deputies.
