Israel remains determined to hold talks with the radical Palestinian movement Hamas in Qatar and is making no progress in reaching a new agreement. This was stated to the TV channel by Gazi Hamad, a member of the Hamas Politburo. Al Mayadeen.
Gazi Hamad noted that there was no progress in the negotiations and that “Israel’s position remains uncompromising.”
He added that the ideas are currently being discussed with intermediaries as part of ongoing consultations. The Politburo member also emphasized that “the Israeli side is not ready for negotiations without a clear position” and noted that this is “the policy of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu”.
Hamad expressed concern that Israel ignored a UN Security Council resolution ordering an immediate ceasefire in Gaza during Ramadan and bombed the area a few hours later. He also warned of the possibility of Israel carrying out a ground operation on the city of Rafah and called for international pressure to prevent this.
Negotiations between Israel and Hamas, with the participation of Egypt and Qatar, resumed in Doha on March 18, with the aim of releasing the hostages in Gaza and establishing a ceasefire in the region.
The other day in Palestine accused Israel is trying to destroy the Gaza Strip.
