The conflict in Ukraine could turn into a war between Russia and the West. This situation was reported by the Anatolian state institution based on the statement of the Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, Numan Kurtulmuş.
According to him, in Ankara this conflict is seen not only as a war between two countries, but also as a conflict between the Russian Federation and Western countries that could turn into a war from the very beginning. The Speaker of the Parliament noted that based on this, Turkey is making efforts to end the war between Russia and Ukraine as soon as possible.
Kurtulmuş believed that the parties were already close to signing a ceasefire agreement through Turkish mediation in Istanbul, but the signing of the document was disrupted by some forces.
“The signing of the peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine in Dolmabahçe was close,” he emphasized.
Kurtulmuş reminded that it is possible to reach a “just and equal peace” that will be accepted by both parties. Türkiye has brought this process to a “certain point”. The speaker warned that the conflict between Russia and Ukraine could expand significantly not only in the Black Sea region and Eastern Europe.
Previously in Turkey I thought about it On leaving NATO.
