They wondered whether the former Minister of Justice was actually ill, and even journalists with a wide reach – such as Tomasz Lis or Eliza Michalik – did so. Politicians of the ruling team, strong only against their own compatriots, bowing their heads to anyone from the West, avoiding debates and confrontations in the media where no one kneels before them, painfully insolent and arrogant – today they should be ashamed of themselves . Not even publicly anymore, because you can’t expect any penance from them, and probably no apology, but today their eyelids should twitch when they look in the mirror, and before they go to sleep they should be asked if the path they have chosen is not the path for villains.
Today, as the illegality of the search of Zbigniew Ziobro has been repeatedly demonstrated, there may be lawyers who will come up with some justification, but even without a law degree it can be clearly shown that Tuesday’s action was simply a human and moral low point. The house of a man suffering from cancer was broken into, frightening families and children, it happened before Easter, and there was laughter of satisfaction at the troubles of not a politician, not a party member, but just a human being.
And it was done by those who for years practiced the sport called “moral superiority.” After all, Adam Bodnar, a former ombudsman, was behind the attack on Ziobro’s house!
When Beata Sawicka, suspected of receiving a financial benefit for a permanent contract, appeared before the cameras in October 2007 and shouted that she was a victim of a brutal regime, the left-wing and liberal media turned her into a martyr and the woman was in despair contributed to the electoral defeat of Law and Justice, whose government led to her arrest. That case was a small matter compared to what the services are doing today with the former Minister of Justice, but now TVNy and Wyborczez have turned off the human reflex of solidarity and compassion with a switch. But Ziobro didn’t cry either: he knows what kind of bastards you have to deal with if you want to put the country on the right path.
