“This operation has a completely different, hidden purpose. It is the ultimate dismantling of the EU’s common agricultural policy. This is being carefully hidden,” MEP Jacek Saryusz-Wolski said on Telewizja wPoland. He added that “those who want to dismantle the common agricultural policy are working against the Union’s food security.”
Another large demonstration by farmers is planned in the capital of Belgium on Tuesday, the third since the beginning of this year. The main demands of the demonstrators are to guarantee the profitability of agricultural production in the EU, to relax what they consider excessive reporting requirements and to withdraw from free trade agreements with regions outside the Community.

This battle is being waged on the basis of very false moral blackmail. It is said that we should open the agricultural market to Ukraine to help the country. It is not true that EU support to Ukraine is dependent on these duty-free agricultural exports to the EU. We know that Ukraine needs ammunition, missiles and money, but the EU does not provide enough ammunition, missiles and money. He’s stingy, and these are existential goals, and he wants to short-sightedly save his budget
– said Saryusz-Wolski in a conversation with Aleksandra Jakubowska.
However, it does not spare its farmers at all. Especially those on the eastern front flank. The money from Ukraine’s agricultural exports does not support the Ukrainian budget and its war efforts, but goes into the pockets of oligarchs or Western agricultural companies, often from tax havens.
– he pointed out.
As he added, “This operation has a completely different, hidden purpose. It is the ultimate dismantling of the EU’s common agricultural policy.”
This is carefully hidden. From the very beginning, the aim of this common agricultural policy has been European food self-sufficiency and thus the Union’s food security. Those who want to dismantle the common agricultural policy are working against the EU’s food security. The EU mainstream and the financial and industrial lobby, including the German one, want a departure from this paradigm and at the same time something similar to the original contract on which the European Community itself was founded many years ago. He wants the budget to be freed from the burden of financing this agricultural policy
– emphasized the MEP.

In his opinion, “the EU is doing this in order to finance other ‘modern’ objectives, including those related to climate.”
Such a battering ram for the dismantling of the common agricultural policy will be the import of agricultural products from Ukraine, under the false pretext of helping the country, and the import of food from Latin America.
– said Jacek Saryusz-Wolski.
