In a spot on social media, Law and Justice recalled the promises made by Donald Tusk and Szymon Hołownia before the parliamentary elections. The short recording was entitled “Attention! Here comes #TuskoDrożyzna”, and ends with a sign with a reminder that from April 1 this year the 5% VAT tax on food will return.
The Ministry of Finance announced that the zero VAT rate on some food products will not be extended after March 31, 2024. And Law and Justice referenced this information in their mockery.

The short recording quoted MEP Beata Szydło’s words from her speech.
Many Poles believed they could follow a third path. Because it will be more fun, maybe more fun, because they don’t like politics. So they went this third way. And so they walked and walked and thought how beautiful it would be there, what wonders there would be at the end, and at the end there was Tusk
– said Szydło.
Then Donald Tusk’s campaign statement was recalled
Nothing given will be taken away. And this is not an electoral offer on my part
– promised the current Prime Minister.
It is followed by a statement from Szymon Hołownia.
I don’t know what more nonsense I will hear from the mouths of those who can promise anything to anyone. You know, this really is the Polish People’s Republic. We will introduce simple taxes, simple and frozen PIT, CIT and VAT during the first term of democratic rule
– announces the current chairman of the Sejm.
The recording ends with Tusk saying that “there’s no point in talking, you have to do your own thing” and a sign with a reminder that a 5% VAT rate on food will come into effect from April 1, 2024.
