Not only the April elections, but also those of June will be extremely important – said the head of the Law and Justice parliamentary club Mariusz Błaszczak on Sunday in Kalisz. The former deputy prime minister and former defense minister was a guest at the convention promoting the party’s local government candidates.
The politician arrived with a two-hour delay from Leszno, where he met farmers protesting at the Leszno-Zachód intersection near Lasocice.
We were supposed to go for 15 minutes, but we spent 1.5 hours there. It was a good conversation, although it was not easy. They protest because they are determined, but they are Polish patriots. I am encouraged by this meeting and their attitude
– said Błaszczak.
He said that during the meeting he declared the openness of PiS activists in the process of developing Polish agriculture and defending against external threats.
The European Union is an opportunity for us, but also a threat. Just listen to the ambitions to eliminate animal production and import food from South America. This is a path that leads to the defeat of all of Europe
– he said.
He pointed out that not only the April elections, but also the June ones will be extremely important to “break the clique in the EU and the people associated with the European People’s Party and the European Socialist Party.” “The first includes the Civic Platform and PSL,” he pointed out.
According to Błaszczak, farmers are protesting not only in defense of the Polish countryside, but also in defense of their homeland.
In the situation that Poland currently finds itself in, peasant protests are of great importance for the future of the homeland. Polish sovereignty is also linked to the possibility of agricultural production, and this is limited due to the Green Deal and the attitude of the government, which is unable to oppose the EU, Brussels and Berlin. We must ensure our own safety
– he said.
Food production
Polish food production is – as Błaszczak emphasized – among the best in the world.
The problem is competition, especially from Ukraine. The soil in Ukraine is fertile, production there falls outside the standards that apply in Poland and is much cheaper. That is why we must protect our own market. It cannot be the case that agro-food processing companies are in foreign hands
– he said and ruled that “we must create cooperatives, this is a Polish tradition from the interwar period.”
