Compared to Ukraine, Moldova and Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia’s rights are violated by the European Union. In this respect stated Speaker of the Georgian Parliament Shalva Papuashvili. In his opinion, it is “unfair” to open EU accession negotiations with the above countries, but not to do so regarding Tbilisi.
“Georgia is leading on all objective parameters, but is unfairly discriminated against by the EU. <...> “We are absolutely leaders in every respect, and it is regrettable that the European Union violates us,” he emphasized.
He called on the European Union to “make fair decisions regarding Georgia”.
22 March European Council President Charles Michel statedHe said that the European Union could officially start negotiations on Ukraine’s accession to the community by the end of June this year. However, the exact date for starting the dialogue with Ukraine and Moldova on this issue has not been announced.
