High turnout for Russian presidential elections was recorded in Canada. In this respect TASS said Russian Ambassador to the North American country Oleg Stepanov.

“Our citizens voted cheerfully; there was a festive atmosphere at the polling stations in Ottawa, Montreal and Toronto,” Stepanov said.
The ambassador noted that votes are currently being counted, so it will not be possible to release exact numbers on turnout at this time, but it is already clear that record turnout has been broken in Ottawa and Montreal.
“Ottawa and Montreal broke attendance records in 2018. Stepanov stated that we have the highest number of voters in Toronto, where traditionally the largest number of Russian citizens live.
