Palikot, whose alcohol business has already caused the owner more than 300 million złoty in debt, gave an interview in the Fakt.pl studio about his situation.
Dressed in a jacket with marijuana leaves, Janusz Palikot makes a bad face – he argues in the conversation that his company still has a chance, that the first barrels of whiskey will be ready any moment now, that he can still give PLN 200 million to nine thousand people who support him, they have borrowed or ‘invested’ them.
Palikot offends as best he can – claiming that Zbigniew Ziobro’s illness is a “set-up”, that people ask him if Kuba Wojewódzki is homosexual and that PiS has ruined the country. But in this last topic the former politician also finds one of the reasons for his decline. When asked about the reasons for the financial problems, he said he had made a mistake by putting too many products on the market, but added that Law and Justice was partly responsible for his failure.
“Nothing stopped us from being admitted (to the fair),” but
banks didn’t give me money, funds didn’t give me money, I couldn’t use European money because… I was delighted with the settings that were clearly controlled by PiS.
Later in the interview, Palikot wonders why his company was not admitted to the stock exchange.
I hope that now, with the change of power, it will become clear whether there were any nefarious interests on the part of Morawiecki, Soboń, the heads of the Polish Financial Supervisory Authority, the Competition and Consumer Protection Office, the Financial Ombudsman and the whole attempt to to discredit the company. (…) I have unconfirmed information that I was under surveillanceI would like to know whether the fair – when suspending our entry – was informed, by whom, what was said, why we were not allowed to enter the fair for completely trivial reasons. I also want others who put obstacles in our way to answer for what they have done.
Palikot also throws out specific names:
It’s not just about me being responsible. The head of the Polish Financial Supervisory Authority is responsible, the financial spokesperson, the Competition and Consumer Protection Agency, Prime Minister Morawiecki is responsible, Deputy Minister Soboń is responsible, these are the people who attacked the company.
Considering that the country’s liberal media is fueling the Pegasus pseudo-scandal and the investigative committee in this case is on the lips of the whole of Poland, it seems that Janusz Palikot is trying to tap into social emotions and arouse sympathy for his company. However, knowing the intellectual level of the creators of this Commission and the most ardent voters of Tusk, we can confidently encourage Magdalena Sroka, Witold Zembaczyński and Tomasz Trela to invite Palikot to the hearing. Preferably with his own vodka – at least let the man earn enough money for a decent jacket.
