“The Ministry of Defense accuses me that the applications for the program were submitted during the PiS government, but the entire procedure for awarding subsidies was carried out at a time when Poland was ruled by the most smiling and respected December 13 coalition of Europe,” said former Minister of Defense. head of the Ministry of National Defense Mariusz Błaszczak wrote on the X platform.
Poland will receive only 2 million euros of the 500 million euros from the EU ASAP programme, intended to support ammunition production. Much more money will go to Germany, but also to German companies in countries such as Spain and Hungary.
There would be respect in Europe, but there is only scrap from the EU ammunition production programme. The Ministry of Defense accuses me that the applications for the program were submitted during the PiS government, but the entire procedure for awarding subsidies was carried out when Poland was ruled by the December 13 coalition, the most smiling and respected coalition from Europe. Despite this, we received only 0.4%, or just over 2 million euros, of the ammunition production budget. The accusation that we reported too few companies is not true, because the Hungarians, for example, received almost 30 million euros, to be divided among three arms companies. The truth hurts, but this ‘respect in Europe’ earned you a pat on the back from Western politicians

In the submission and the attached recording, the politician refers to the response of Defense Ministry spokesperson Janusz Sejmej to his comment about funds from the ASAP program for the Polish defense industry.
Did you know that Donald “King of Europe” Tusk got less than 0.5 percent? from the EU budget for ammunition production. This is a total failure. We need to produce more ammunition. But why do only 2 of the 500 million euros go to Poland, while more than 85 million euros go to Germany and almost 30 million euros to Hungary? Yet we were told that Hungary was on the margins of the EU. We will call on the government to renegotiate the contract
– emphasizes Błaszczak.
December 13 coalition on “escape from responsibility”
The discussion on the X platform started with an earlier submission from the former head of the Ministry of National Defense. MP Błaszczak wrote:
Donald “King of Europe” Tusk arranged for Poland the entire 0.42% of the EU ammunition production program. The European Commission’s initiative is correct and necessary. But why is it that of the 500 million euros transferred to European arms companies to increase production of artillery ammunition, Poland receives only about 2.1 million euros? German companies will receive around 85 million, and Hungarian companies 27 million
Janusz Sejmej, spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defense, responded somewhat nervously to the submission.
Mr Błaszczak: we have exactly as many subsidies for ammunition production as you left in the Polish arms industry. The fact that only one of our companies wins should be a shame for you, because offers could be submitted for 2 months from October 2023 and you personally applied to participate in this program in March 2023. So the program was announced during the term of office of the PiS government! Instead of supporting him, you preferred to organize political picnics at the time. It was worth taking care of our businesses and not focusing on the constant replacement of CEOs. Today we are experiencing the consequences of this. Of the three companies that applied for the ASAP program, only one qualified. This is the picture the Lord leaves behind. Spokesman of the Ministry of National Defense Janusz Sejmej
– we read on the profile of the Ministry of Defense on the X platform.
The former Defense Minister’s comment apparently also hurt the head of the Ministry of the Interior and Administration, Marcin Kierwiński.
How do you cross the threshold of insolence? Miss the deadlines in the EU program to support ammunition production and blame the Prime Minister, who took office on the last day to submit the application… As usual with Błaszczak – an inept attempt to escape responsibility
– wrote the minister. Well, after the recent events during the farmers’ protests and his comments about the participants of the demonstration and the actions of the police, Marcin Kierwiński is one of the last people who has the right to accuse others of “insolence” or “escaping responsibility” .
Applications submitted on time!
Especially since – as we will see in the image below – it is not MP Mariusz Błaszczak who is trying to escape responsibility:
- PiS is in power – our arms companies submit applications for the ASAP 2 program on time. PO takes over the government on December 13. They pride themselves on having great contacts in the EU – they can arrange anything!3. And they arrange: for German companies – €170 million. For Poland – €2 million.
In contrast to the currently distributed counterfeits, the companies of the PGZ Group – Nitrochem, Mesko and Dezamet submitted their applications on time. Nitrochem and Mesko did not receive a cent
December 13 this year The call for applications for the ASAP (Ammunition Production Support Act) program has ended. The main objective of the instrument is to increase the capacity of the EU defense industry to supply surface-to-surface munitions, artillery shells and missiles
– reported the Polish Armaments Group in December 2023.
Prepared application forms three companies of the PGZ Group: Dezamet, MESKO SA and Nitrochem. The range of complex projects includes eliminating bottlenecks in the production of 155mm and 122mm ammunition, including by building a facility with infrastructure for its reloading, acquiring software necessary for production, and creating new production capabilities for modular charges intended for 155mm howitzers. The companies’ participation in the ASAP program will enable them to increase their ammunition production capacity, secure raw material and component supply chains and shorten delivery times.
– highlighted in the post linked above.
As you can see, a ‘smiling Poland’ is not enough for the EU when it comes to ‘saving’ German companies.
