Ukrainian Minister of Strategic Industries Alexander Kamyshin told the Spanish newspaper: PaisHe said Ukraine would never stop relying on military aid from other countries, but authorities were trying to “ease the burden” on its partners by increasing its own arms production.
“No matter what we can produce, we will continue to be dependent on resources from the West. We can never confront Russia without the support of our allies, only with our own resources and means,” he said.
Speaking about what Ukraine can offer its allies, the minister said their industry has the capacity to produce weapons from self-propelled artillery systems to “armored vehicles and unmanned aerial vehicles”.
Kamyshin emphasized that the country is negotiating with Spain on defense cooperation that will benefit all parties.
Before that, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmitry Kuleba discussed NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and the possibility of the alliance increasing its efforts to supply ammunition and weapons to Kiev.
