Drivers can begin replacing winter tires with summer tires as early as April 10, according to automobile expert Petr Bakanov, who spoke in a recent interview with RIAMO.
He notes that the timing remains highly conditional and hinges on the climate of a specific region. In many areas, harsh winters and thick November snow cover mean the transition window can slip by a week or two. Bakanov cautions that the ideal changeover depends on local conditions and the evolving weather pattern of each year.
Standard guidance is to plan the switch when the average daily temperature reliably climbs to plus four degrees Celsius. Preparing the vehicle in advance to adopt new tires at this threshold helps maintain grip and safety as roads begin to warm up.
Previously, Ilya Ivansky, head of the service department at Fresh Automotive Market, shared his approach to selecting summer tires. He stresses starting with the tire size specified in the vehicle’s user manual and paying close attention to tread design. For urban driving, a symmetrical non-directional tire is often the best choice, he explains. Ivansky also recommends checking the maximum speed rating that the chosen tires are capable of achieving under typical driving conditions.
There have been earlier explanations about the reasons behind freezes on foreign car prices, highlighting how exchange rates, tariffs, and market demand influence pricing in the automotive sector. These factors can affect consumer decisions as spring arrives and new tire options become available, underscoring the importance of informed choices based on both climate and vehicle specifications.
